Tech Tip: Favicon

This is my Favicon!!
I chose this one because I thought it fit well with the theme of India/Asia. I also really like Pandas. I have been to different parts of Asia and got to see them up close and thing they are a unique animal. Therefore, I searched Panda and it came up with a bunch of favicons of pandas. This one was the cutest and looked like the best overall quality. Hope you guys like it! Try to make on yourself. Here is the instructions to add your own: Tech Tip Favicon.

I had never heard of these before so this was an eye opening and learning experience.

Tech Tip: Google Timer

I had no idea Google had a timer. I set one for ten minutes so I could take a 10min break after already working on school work for a while. I usually do not use a timer it is a more of how I feel basis. If I am tired then I will stop working unless I need to keep going. I usually take a break after about an hour of studying. Sometimes I get in a "studying groove", so I don't take a break but keep going. Other times after only half an hour I take a break because I just can't focus that well. I think thought that it is useful in managing screen time. For my iPhone I use the screen time software so it restricts how much time I can spend on Social Media, that way I can not waste all my time and be stressed later that I didn't do something. I probably wouldn't use the google timer that often though since I have an apple watch that can do that or my phone. However, this is a neat thing if my other devices are dead or not with me.

Tech Tip: Embedding YouTube (A&P)

As a future physician I have decided to use a video that relates to the body or the art of medicine.
These are both by crash course (which is a very good series that can help you learn things on certain subjects. It helped me with intro to biology and phycology!)

Tech Tip: Featured Post

This blog is about my featured post. I went to my blog and added a feature post so everyone can see it on every page, no matter what they click on. It is displayed on the right hand side. I decided to use the featured post to feature my intro. This way people can get to know me if they are just reading a story of mine or commenting on my comment wall. I have also updated my intro which is why I want more people to read it or go back over it.

Tech Tip: Twine

I have played a twine game and also made my own twine game! The process was really fun!! I think it would be really cool if someone would make their story using twine. This gives the story more life and variety. The reader can choose what happens and depending on what they choose the characters could live or die or fall in love or not, etc. I think it would be fun to try experimenting writing a story using this program. I think it would be a bit difficult though because then you will have multiple outcomes that you would have to write based on certain situations. Also, making sure you follow it correctly because when making my game I accidentally sent it to the wrong screen and then the game did not make sense so I had to start over. Another thing that stinks or just because I haven't figured it out is that when you make two different stories you cannot later connect them or use one of those branches to go back to a screen you already used. If I could figure that out, then it could make the story more interesting because I could use it as a chance for the audience member to correct their mistake or give them a second chance to change the outcome. I am so glad I did this. I strongly recommend everyone give this a try!

Tech Tip: Canvas Profile

For this Tech Tip I learned that if I wanted to I could edit my name on Canvas and put a nickname instead. I decided to leave my name since this is what I go by and prefer to be called. I also added a picture to my profile. I put a picture of me with a stethoscope. I chose this because I wanted to show people that I am interested in medicine and it is one of my favorite pictures because it shows what I love doing. Under my bio, I decided to go with a short little bio simply stating what I was studying here at OU. I think this way people could connect with me if they have a similar major.

Tech Tip: Canvas Mobile App

I have downloaded the Canvas app and have had it since last semester. I have the app on my iPhone. The app is very helpful, especially when I do not have my laptop or my laptop is dead. It is pretty easy to access class files and review notes and posted review questions. I have had no problems with it so far. In order to avoid problems and crashes I update it as soon as a new version is available. The app also allows me to see my grades, classwork, assignments, etc. It is almost like using the desktop version. If you don't have the app, you should get it!
